Moral stories are supposed to be fun, engaging, and filled with lots of interesting characters. Additionally, the primary function of the stories is to deliver a thoughtful message to the child to make them learn something extremely important related to life. A moral story can teach a child about something as basic as knowing how to share things with others. Further, the stories may make a child learn the importance of kindness, perseverance, truthfulness, and honesty.

All of these learnings can stay with a child for the rest of their lives and may help them become a more responsible adult. Additionally, these are also extremely fun indoor activities that may make a child more inclined towards reading and writing. It may also help parents reduce their children's screen time and make them focus on something that may help them in their academic life as well. Short and meaningful moral stories can be narrated to a child just before they're about to sleep.

  • The Rabbit and the Tortoise

The Rabbit and the Tortoise is a classic tale that teaches kids how to not be overconfident about one's abilities. This is a story of a rabbit and tortoise who decide to participate in a race. The rabbit, because of its natural ability to jump, is extremely overconfident and boosts how it will be able to easily defeat the tortoise. The tortoise on the other hand is determined to complete the race and doesn't think much about its natural slow speed. As the race starts, the rabbit hops and covers a significant distance while the turtle slowly takes each step. After covering a significant distance, the rabbit decides to take some rest as it believes that the turtle would take a longer time to even reach that particular point. Eventually, the rabbit ends up sleeping while the turtle completes the race. The moral of the story is that hard work and grit can eventually beat talent and overconfidence.

  • The Little Engine That Could

This is a story about a train that had a strong engine that was considered one of the fastest among many other trains. However, once the engine ended up breaking down and had to be repaired instantly. The train now required a new engine to take over and cover the decided distance. Because the train was so big, many other engines tried but were not able to take the weight. However, a small engine decided to give it a shot. Seeing this, the other trains and engines started laughing at it. Nevertheless, the small engine with all its power ended up moving the train and covering the distance. The moral of the story is that by believing in oneself, one can accomplish even the most impossible things in life.

  • Three Little Pigs

Three Little Pigs is about a story of three pigs who decide to make a house for themselves. One pig decides to make their house with bricks while the other decides to make their house with straws. The third one makes their house with sticks. Three of them worked tirelessly to build their dream houses. Once they are built properly, they start living inside their respective houses. One day, a wolf comes and threatens to destroy their house. The wolf ends up destroying the house of the pigs who made it with sticks and straws. Only the house made of break ends up staying intact. After some time, the wolf returns because no results being attained. The moral of the story is that other than working hard, it's also important to make mindful decisions and wise choices in life.

  • The Rainbow Fish

Once upon a time, there lived a very beautiful fish that had scales like that of rainbow colors. It was so beautiful that it would instantly attract the attention of other fishes. However, due to its sublime beauty, the rainbow fish became extremely overconfident and rude. Eventually, the rainbow fish was ostracized and no other fish talked to it. Slowly, the rainbow fish understood its fault and started talking nicely to other fishes. It even lets other fish touch its scales and play with them. The moral of the story is that instead of becoming arrogant about our gifts and accomplishments, we need to share them with other people and make everyone happy.

  • The Emperor's New Clothes

This is a story about an emperor, who thought that he was the wisest of all the emperors in the world. Once a clever tailor from some other land visits his kingdom and decides to trick the emperor. He visits the court and challenges everyone to wear his invisible clothes. Anyone who cannot see or feel these clothes is unworthy of their position. The king instantly became insecure and wanted everyone to know his worth and intelligence. To not appear foolish in front of other people, the emperor tells everyone that he could see the invisible clothes. The tailor then asks the emperor to wear these invisible clothes. Eventually, the emperor ends up taking off his actual clothes and acts like he is wearing the invisible clothes. This throws the whole crowd into a fit of laughter and everyone understands the wittiness of the tailor. The moral of the story is that it's very important to always speak the truth and not indulge in unnecessary boosting.
