Summer calls for the perfect time to enjoy new hobbies, stay active and learn new fun ways. Every year schools shut down for a few months for summer vacation, mostly about giving your body a rest from the heat, but what better time than engaging in new and creative hobbies?
Heat can be an obstacle for an outside scavenger hunt, but you can easy pick a few things in the house, hide them and give your kids clues to find them.
This is best for people with big backyards or gardens, set up 2 or 3 inflatable pools and put in some balls and buckets for kids to enjoy.
Teach kids about gardening and what vegetable or fruit is best grown in which season. Let kids plant flowers or veggies and take care of them all summer.
Give kids paper, paint and glue and let them make summer art projects.
Help kids make puppets and have them put on their own show.
Create a summer reading list and take kids to the library to check out new books.
Take kids on a nature walk and collect leaves, rocks and flowers for a scrapbook.
Let kids play an instrument, learn a new song or make up their own dance.
